Join the American Farm bureau Foundation for Agriculture and encourage your local schools to Read with Farmer on Friday, September 6! Honor National Read a Book Day and invite the folks who proudly grow our world’s food, fiber, and fuel to sit down with your students and read a book about agriculture. Suggested books and activities:

- John Deere, That’s Who! – a picture book on the invention of the steel plow. Pair the book with the John Deere Lesson Plan!
- Ag Innovations Lesson Plan – an activity to compare the “then” and “now” of farming procedures!
- Equipment Engineer – a game on My American Farm to complete agricultural tasks with the right equipment
- First Peas to the Table – a book on a girl’s race to harvest her school garden’s peas
